In addition to specifying the type of IP addresses assigned to the mobile devices and the connectivity method, custom IP solutions provide data traffic flow control as well as mobile device management.

Restrict General Internet Access For better cost and productivity control, end users can be restricted from accessing the general Internet through their mobile device via the Carrier Internet gateway.
Allow/Disallow Mobile Terminated Data Some applications require the ability to send data to a mobile device without solicitation, e.g., dispatch or messaging applications. With a custom IP solution, you can allow wireless devices to receive this type of data.
Dynamic DNS (Domain Name Service) This creates a constant logical DNS name, which is mapped to the currently assigned IP address for each mobile device. This allows the application to identify the mobile device without using the IP address or query the network by DNS to find the currently assigned IP address.
